Who are Thompson GRP? Allan Thompson a fully trained boat builder, served his apprentice years at the shipyards on the Tyne and has subsequently run Thompson GRP for over 20 years. Allan and his professional team have traditionally designed and constructed bespoke research models for a customer base including universities, international yacht teams and the MOD. The first stop for specialist projects One of the most unusual contracts involved construction of a working scale model of the Mary Rose for Channel 4’s series, Secrets of the Dead. Most recently Thompson GRP has provided working scale models to the Mirabella Team following construction of the world's biggest single masted yacht.!
